Peptide Storage

Best Practices For Storing Peptides

To maintain your peptides’ quality, it is important to avoid repeated temperature changes. This applies to both lyophilized peptides (freeze dried) and reconstituted peptides (mixed). Lyophilized peptides will last longer, especially in a freezer, and peptides in solution can only be stored for shorter periods.
It is important to follow these general guidelines to protect your peptides:
  • Keep peptides cold and away from light.
  • Short-term refrigeration under 4°C (39°F) is generally acceptable.¹
  • For longer-term storage, freeze peptides at -20°C (-4°F) to -80°C (-112°F).¹
  • Do not store peptides in frost-free freezers as temperatures will fluctuate significantly during defrosting cycles.

How To Store Lyophilized Peptides (Freeze Dried)

  • Short term: lyophilized peptides are stable at room temperature for 30-60 days, and can be stored in a refrigerator at 4°C (39°F) for up to 3 months.¹
  • Long term: lyophilized peptides can be stored for longer than a year if frozen at -20°C (-4°F) to -80°C (-112°F).¹

How To Store Reconstituted Peptides (Mixed)

  • Short term: reconstituted peptides are stable in a refrigerator for up to 30 days.
  • Avoid storing reconstituted peptides long term, but if necessary, freeze reconstituted peptides at -80°C (-112°F) in sterile buffers at pH 5-6, separated into aliquots.

Why Aminos Research Uses Glass Vials For Peptide Storage

The best option for storage of peptides is in a high-quality glass vial because these are chemically resistant, clear and structurally sound. Be wary that glass vials are susceptible to breakage, which is why Aminos Research ships all vials within a secure box and an insulated mailer.

Our Secure Packaging Guarantee

Thanks to our high quality boxes and insulated mailers, we are confident that all Aminos Research peptides should arrive at their destination in perfect condition. This is why we offer a Secure Packaging Guarantee. If your vial is not in perfect condition when it arrives send us a message at for a refund.
